Which Valve Springs for this cam setup?
Hi guys,
Need some help here. PAC 1219X set good for 0.625" lift or 0.660" dual spring setup from Cam Motion?
Cam specs are the 5.3L Titan 3 from Cam Motion,
224/228 113+4 .603"/.595" lift
Truck is going turbo and wont be spun past 7k rpms through a 4L80E
Thank you very much!!
Jeff C.

Both will be fine for that camshaft. Some like the single beehive for it's light weight and others like the dual spring for a safety margin if the outer spring brakes. Another good choice is the PSI 1511ML spring. It's a single beehive and I've read there are no reports of this spring failing, not sure this is 100% correct but this is a quality piece.

At 6500+ RPM the inner spring has a lot of work to perform keeping the valve and piston from contact during a spring failure. Still may be enough to minimize damage and salvage something... maybe
I've run the single PAC 1218 good for .600" on a .597" intake lobe with no issues, but for less than 5,000 miles. With the .629" .615" I have now, the dual .660 spring is a must.

Just to jump in there and stir things up. I've seen quite a few broken SINGLE valve springs with NO damage other than the spring.
Single or dual does not always guarantee no damage. Singles are the best for the most stable valve train. Some like to go dual because it gives them peace of mind.

Like Red and Pooter said you can go either way.
We wouldn't hesitate to throw a set of PAC 1219's on the heads for that cam. The 1219X's would gain you another 10 lbs. of seat and open pressure from the standard 1219's.
If you're looking for "peace of mind" a set of Trickflow .660" lift duals would do the trick.
