Used Procharger for 1500?
#1
Well, I was gonna spray a 125 shot, but for 1500 I can get a used Procharger from a friend. He just found out he is going to be a father soon, so he is parting out his truck to buy a house. Its only 4 months old. What do you guys think? I know LS1 edit will be a must, along with some major tranny upgrades. Will I need to get new injectors too? Will I need anything else? Thanks for any input.

OK, I'm gonna get slammed here, but here is my opinion....If you want 1/4 mile times, spray. If you want a fast truck beyond 1/4 mile force it. All of the S/C I have seen are great and seem to make there owners happy. I just like the gas on demand. But for that price, I would do it.

I'm going to have to agree with Greg. If your willing to run 10psi the charger will be awesome. If your planning on trying to run like 4-5psi skip the headache and slap the N2O on there.
During everyday cruising you will lose bottom end with the charger. The amount of power it takes to spin it is very noticeable. At low boost levels it may even be a wash between power gained and power needed to run it especially if your tune is not on.
For a heavy truck torque is where its at and the N2O will smack the Charger around in that department unless your running alot of boost like I mentioned earlier.
Gas mileage will suffer also with the charger from the driving losses. I lost around 3mpg when I put mine on my car.
If you want some more power in your daily driver go with the N2O. Less headaches.

Thanks Greg. I want to run fast at the track, but I love running people down on the freeway too. This will be a tough choice. The gas is half the price, and will more than likely give the tranny a fighting chance. I know with a S/C I will drive it alot harder on a daily basis.

Thanks John. Well, looks like the choice is becoming clear. I guess I will pass on the S/C for now. If anyone is looking for a Procharger, let me know. I am sure the price will be good for anyone who wants to buy quick. Let me know if you are interested 02 Z71.
Thanks again guys.

the procharger is great in my opinion it has a lot going for it being intercooled I'm still running the stock pullie that is came with
gonna crank up the boost real soon
the only thing is you need to up size the injectors to make it happen and Ls1 edit for sure
A stall and and some tranny work are good moves too
there are some other imrovement that need to be done like the **** placement of the intake of the charger
lemme know if Procharger is still for sale ?
