Supercharge 6.0L??
#1
Hey guys, I picked up a new C1500HD and have been looking at superchargers for it. Magnacharger has, what looks like, the simplest and most straightforward install. I know that it won't give quite as much as a whipple but I just want to embarrass the dime store rustangs like I did with my cam'ed '98. Anyone have any experiance with these blowers that can offer some advice?

A buddy of mine has a 4.8 with a whipple and cam and it made 440hp at the wheels and right at 480ftlbs. I would go whipple before i went magna.

The only person that I know of who put a Magnuson on a 6.0 is Tom Byrne (TByrne Motorsports). On his website it says he put down 357hp/422tq with the usual bolt-ons.
A while back I think there was an Escalade that was making the rounds with all the popular truck magazines, I think it had a Magnuson on it too.

Parish 8 running 3 psi is useless. You are adding adding fifty horse power and its taking 10 to spin the blower for a grand total of 40hp... Dude slam the boost to that *****.. You got it use it...Run 10 or 12 psi let it rip, just watch when you are tunning that thing. Don't be scared....

I run a magna charger on my 5.3. I really liked it, but it doesnt make the power of a whipple, nor the bottle. as for the install, and things fitting properly. I would go with Magnacharger. I ddid the install in 4 hours w/2 friends and 2 cases of ice cold silver bullets. The reason why i got the magna charger, is its design. it also has very little parasitic drag when you are driving at a humane rate. The cool thing is that it is always blowing of the boost, unless you get on it, then it builds psi, which = better fuell economy. If your looking for 1/4 mile #'s get it on the bottle. if you have cash then blow it and juice it. youll put down some nice #s then. Just be ready for a trans rebuild in a few thousand miles.
