ok problem tonight.......30-40 punch, the truck revs past 6k and hit the limiter at least 6-8 times before it will shift; i'm afraid the tranny will go soon if it keeps doing this...

you think a hypertech will help? maybe lower the shift points??

i would take it into the dealership and get it checked out. i took my hpp3 off today to see what would happen. did everything you did and it downshifted and took off. put the hpp3 back on and had all my power again. sounds like you have a faulty tranny. but our trucks are different. you have a 02 z71 and i have a 99' silverado.

good luck

Sounds like your not getting line pressure to make the shift. What is your fluid level like? The reason I say this, is I experimented with line pressure through LS1 edit to see what the difference was. At low pressure it would not shift under performance mode, it would just hit the rev limiter.

My Dodge Dakota had one of those throttle valve cables. It had to be adjusted just right. I am not sure if our trucks have one though. Did you check the fluid level yet?

i checked the fluid level and it looks fine.
i'm going to buy a programmer tomorrow and see if that helps, if not, then i'm going to de-program it and put the stock airbox back on and see what it does. if no luck, then back to the dealership.

Black! Sounds like you have a tranny problem, I can't imagine that the UPD would cause tranny problems but one way to find out is take it off and see if the problem is still there. Your tranny isn't kicking down properly, it also sounds like it is slipping if the engine revs to 6K and your not moving any faster. I see if you can repeat the problem with the stock intake and then take it to the dealer. The UPD shouldn't be a problem with the warrenty though, I took my truck to the dealer with it on and they never said a thing about it.

yea, i am thinking about taking it in tomorrow or the next day... good thing pops is on vacation this week so i can use his truck if it needs to be kept... maybe they can fix my door handle problem too!

yea, it feels like i put the truck in neutral and hit the pedal...same effect, even at a dead stop and slow acceleration, the truck will not shift until almost 4k
