Default UPD question

i installed my UPD yesterday and noticed it feelsl like some kind of nos shot, its like it sucks harder when the rpm's go up, then it slingshots the truck forward...
well, today on the freeway i was going 60mph, and i hit the pedal and the rpms shot up and it slapped my rev limiter like 3 times, then shifted... is this weird, or does it usually do this? no complaints about it though;

Black! It never did that to me, sounds wierd though. When you say you're doing 60 mph and you hit the gas pedal and the rev's go up. Do you mean, the trucks not kicking down into passing gear and the engine is reving and hitting the limiter before the trans kicks down or the trans has kicked down and you're hitting the rev limiter while still in the passing gear, like it's carring each gear farther before it shifts?

Damn, that's is cool. Mine did nothing like that. You sure you don't have a real slow leak in your stealth NAAWWWSS system.

no nawwws system......YET!!

i dont know its weird, i'll hit the pedal and the rpm will go up about 500 more then where i'm at then boom, it shoots forward just like you see when someone shoots nos...

and on the 60 kick, it wont kick down, it'll rev up to about 6100, then slap the limiter, then shift (no hypertech installed)

I don't know, my truck just always kicked down into a lower gear and off I went. 6100 rev limter stock, what year truck? I think my 00 is like 5800, it shifted out of 1st at 5600 and 2nd & 3rd at 5200 stock. Now with the HPP, I have it shifting at about 6000 for all shifts. Do you think it's the trans slipping? Maybe the UPD and the extra oomph it gives you is enough to make it appear more. I know that's a long shot but I truely don't know.

it happens to me every now and then too. cept i'm cruising at around 40-45, punch it, and the needle climbs all the way to 6,000+rpm. when it gets that high it sounds really bad on the engine so i let off. one time i let it keep climbing and it finally downshifted...barked the tires going a little over 45mph. doesn't happen too often but when it does, doesn't sound too healthy.

never happened to me. i still have a basically stock truck (exaust and the UPD). mine will still downshift. it does seem to carry the gears out a little longer too. i don't really notice mine unitl 3500+ RPMS though.
