if you have a wastegate that has a 5psi spring in it, you will be fine, if not get a manual boost contoller and turn the boost down.

you can't ever turn the boost down with a boost controler. only up.

my wg came with springs and shims that will let me go from about 5psi to about 10psi without any electronics or boost controler.

That is an impossible question to answer. With so many variables involved, the correct answer will not be found.

Starting with 5psi, your going to want to check your plugs often, hook up a knock sensing device of some sort, and monitor your car closely.

If all is good, leave it alone. But my gut tells me that you would need at least a RRFPR if anything to at least supplement your fuel needs. As well as a better fuel pump if anything.

Now if your looking or max power from that engine, then an E-Manage or AEM standlaone is the ticket.

I think Jim meant you can't below whatever the lowest setting is for the wastegate.

yeah i was but i think i missunderstood the original question. he may not have been asking about a boost controler at all but rather a way to tune.

i am with unredemed. no way to know especialy since i know nothing about a honda. on an ls1 the stock pcm would do a prety good job of tuning for you right up till you are out of injectors. it would be silly to spend the money on a turbo and not tune for it on an ls1 since they cost a lot but maybe you are geting it for next to nothing.
