Default 5.7 in my truck what converter to use?????

i just put a 5.7 motor in my truck its a 2004 1500 swb..i used a yank 3000 stahl for a truck...it runs strong but it sounds like the transmission is about to come unraveled...also its not locking into 4th gear it used to run about 2000 rpm at 70 mph now its turning 2000 rpm at about 55 mph i dont think its locking into 4th gear ......i have tryed 3 different converters...i even put a stock camaro converter in it ....and it sounds the same....im out of things to do ...its a 99 ls1 i just pulled my 5.3 out and installed it

I assume you have tuning software or the ability to get your truck tuned right?

I just got my LS1 this last week and was wondering the same thing.
Tiger, what convertor are you running? Do you need to retune the PCM for a new convertor?

I've been thinking about the Trailblazer stall, seems like a decent upgrade for a good price.

Im using my stock truck converter with no problems! 2 weeks before I did the LS1 I had just put in the 212/218 in the 4.8 so Im still using that cam in the LS1 which is mild for that motor. When I do a new converter I will up the cam alot! I dont see why any of the conerters you tried didnt work out for you! Im going to a 3000k most likely but maybe even a 3300k and dont plan on having any issues. I dont think converter is your problem if you know your truck is tuned right! Im thinking your tranny needs some attention!
