turbo silverado

Default turbo silverado

i thinking about getting a silverado and making it into a little parish wannabee. which engine should i go with 4.8,5.3,6.0 what are the hp limits with the stock engines if turbod with the right tuning and fuel supply.

If I had it to do all over again, I would get a 2500HD reg cab long bed w/ a 6.0L/4L80-e and 2wd. Cut the frame down to accept a short bed, slap a turbo on the motor and a shift kit and converter in the tranny, put an Eaton out back, and drive the hell outta it.

Might be a little outta your budget though.

Try looking for a RCSB 4.8 w/ high miles. Get a forged 408 first and add a turbo kit later. I think you'll be much happier in the long run.

I wouldnt do the HD id so the regular 2500 as that still gets u the 6.0 and the 4l80 just not as big of frame so it should shed some weight.

the 2500/1500HD chasis doesn't come in RC or EC, just the CC.

I like the 2500HD advice.......hmmm...........wonder why?

If buying a used/new truck I'd do a 2500HD also. That is if you don't like to modify too much.

Otherwise just do like he did with the 1500 4x4 and put all the HD stuff on it.

I gotta have the ext. cab personally.

if i was going turbo and didn't have a bunch of money i would probably go with a 6.0 block and bore it to 4.100 or 4.030 and use a stock crank forged blower pistons and good rods, nice sized turbo and u could safely run 10-12 psi boost(can run more) on a daily basis and not worry about busting. Oh, and of course a built tranny or 4l80 for the time being.

get a Regular cab v8(5.3 or 4.8.. doesnt matter) with a ton of miles and still Looks good and all other options work.

Drop a slightly used 6.0 in there and a 480le in there(the HD tranny is a MUST... more than the engine size is for an FI setup in these trucks). I would stick to 2wd to save $$$ and weight, but the 4x4 is going to launch better with less money and modification.... a 2wd can launch just as well as a 4by if the suspension is set up correctly.

Get the STS or C motorsports kit(size: gt-67 to t-76). Go with an OBX FMIC for cooling. Use at least a 3000 stall convertor in the tranny and get an Eaton posi for the rear end. Since you have the HD tranny... look into like a 75-100 dry shot of N2O for the 60' times. I would also get a Cam, new heads and springs.

The biggest issue is going to be tuning... MAKE SURE THAT IT'S A DYNO/STREET DRIVEN TUNE!!!!..

6.0 definately i would say RCSB 1500 as far as the 4x4 it well definately help the launch good luck

Yes, chevy used to make them in rc or ec moels.... they were ld 2500s ... iguess they stopped
