Question Transmission question

I have a 99 5.3 4wd z71 with 9 inches of lift. I am running 38 inch tires. I plan on beefing up the engine to hold a superchager or nos. Do i need to rebuild my tranny? What would be a good sugestion on a tranny. Are there any good ones for my scenario??

4wd, big tires, blower=no more tranny for sure. if you aren't going to get super crazy with your power adder, just a solid rebuild kit should do just fine. not just a shift kit, the full meal deal.

that sucks! i just typed up a bunch of crap and the site goes down for maintenance!

as i was saying, you should get several replies on this one. any good kit or a reputable builder that can put one together for you should be just fine. i personally have a transgo kit in mine with a few additional parts here and there. try level 10 at http://www.levelten.com/ or carl rossler at www.rosslertrans.com. level 10 is ok to e-mail but give carl a call if you want results from him. i personally talked to carl at his spotless shop in ohio over christmas, super nice guy and he ONLY builds race tranny's. regardless of what you decide on, the actual build is extremely critical.

flp is also a good choice. i would still contact whoever and tell them what you are planning and get their suggestions. after all, that's what they do.
