Default Tranny question

I am soon going to be in need of another trans, I see that parish8 went to a 4L80, why not go to a th400 like the f-body guys are doing? It seems you would have to fabricate for both transmissions, is there advantages to the 4L80 over the TH400? just currious. I have a scsb 6.0 procharged

Supposedly .... you can get a built 4l60 that will handle some power, but I've not seen it yet. I would like to know what would be involved in a th400 swap too.

The only problem I see is not having overdrive with a TH400.

The 4L80E is basicly a TH400 with an overdrive and electronics added.A late model 4L80E is supposed to be stronger than a TH400 because of an upgraded shaft and wider band.
