If you want a new one then you just have to order it for the current year model, so you would have to order the part for an 05 trailblazer.

The checkball is there to regulate the amount of fluid that goes into the tc. When you run a smaller converter like the TB one then it needs more fluid for more cooling when you drive hard or tow. Removing the checkball does that.

Now it has a steady pull from the second you hit it, not that "after burner kicking in" feel I used to get when I got out about 60'. If you want to use the truck for a daily all around driver I wouldn't go any higher with the stahl. If you are drag racing it on a regular basis, look at a yank or equivilent. My guess is the yank 3000 will net you about 1 car length in the quarter and set you back an additional $400-$500 green ones, plus be a little annoying when going to the grocery store, which is likely 95% of the typical persons use.
My Yank TT3000 is VERY drivable. It isn't annoying what so ever, and that includes going to "the grocery store". People wouldn't believe how "drivable" they are unless they tried one. I think people are thinking of how an older street/strip car with a 3000 converter performs, and the Yank is not even close to comparable with that type of set-up. It is the best mod you can do to one of these trucks. Sure the price is a bit higher, but by now I'm sure everyone knows that "you get what you pay for". I'm glad people are satisfied with their TB converters, but you'd really have to drive a truck with a "quality" converter such as Yank or PI to really understand what you're missing out on.

So what is the real part number on this TB converter. It's weird how everytime this question is asked, 2-3 different ones come up.

24228708 or 24228709 This is from Zippy. The 24228708 arrived today, I am putting it in my SS. They are the same converter.

I have had mine in for about a week now, and it is excellent. It is a very mild converter around town, but I can stall mine up to 2600. Launches are much better, and I think that I will gain a decent amount off the line. Definately worth the $, although I think that bigger would still be streetable.

Not really, maybe just a bit because I get on it more now. The converter is honestly extremely mild. If you had not driven the truck before you may never notice it is there.

It is in the input shaft of the tranny. If you have the tranny out you can't miss it.
