I would also like to know how it effects towing, I'll be towing my 1800lb trailer and a Camaro so about 5500lbs, with my Silverado SS

gm website says towing capacity 5300 to 6300 in the trailblazer i6, but i don't know how the larger engine will affect that

Well not that this really helps, but i've pulled 6000lbs in my moms 4.2L 4WD TB, just fine for over 600 miles. But like you say how will a 6.0l affect that.

I bought one, but haven't had the time to install it yet. Depends on your dealer if you can get them cheaper than gmpartsdirect.com I can't wait to get mine on I have also heard from a few very knowledgable tranny guys that the TB converter should be able to handle towing a full load easily, especially if you take out the check ball in the input shaft. You don't have to take out the check ball, but it is supposed to be better for the TC.

what will taking out the check ball do, i assume its there for a reason. just need a little more info. thanks

should not change the towing too much from what i understand it is not a real loose converter just to make sure you might want to go with a tranny cooler though to keep it cool or you might be replacing the tranny soon

Is there anyway to order a new one from GM, not a reman, I hope they don't reman torque converters like the do Transmissions.
