If you have stock tires and wheels, lower the air pressure in the rear tires, if that does not get you to hook up better, don't stall up before launching(if you are now).
Bigger tires would do the trick, but thats $350-400.

didnt that guy that you raced have a 5.3L with equal or more mods? From what i remember hearing you didnt lose by much, so i'd be happy with that. I would have been expecting to lose
as far as hooking if you have stock tires on theres your problem

On a truck, you dont need as much pressure in the back tires on an unloaded bed. I spend 90% of my time wil no load or little load in my bed. I reduced the pressure of the rears from 35 to a little over 20. My goal was to get an even contact patch on the pavement. With too much pressure, you'll wear out the inner tread quicker.

you could try traction bars. the best is caltraks but the price <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
i got a pair of Lakewood Generics from autozone that cost 40 bux. they work ok. not bad for 40 bux. you'll have to buy bigger brackets than they come with but the install is relatively easy.

i was am a reg cab and he has an ext cab. i think the problem was stalling to high and to high of air pressure. when i ran you all there was on the truck was a cut out, intake and hpp3....I DID NOT SPRAY AGAINST YOU!!! like i have said if you wanna do the race again then i will do the same race for the same money. motor vs. motor and i will take out the bottle. but like most of thme have said traction bars would work, low tire pressure helps...but stalling up tp high will kill you more than anything.
