During the tightening process, the bolts have been pulled to their elastic limit. The bolts actually stretch. Only new bolts can provide the even clamping force.

Back when I had my shop I had a guy bring me a motor to fix because he had tried to re-use the TTY headbolts and broke a couple off in the block. As far as I am concerned, TTY bolts are a stupid idea. They should never, ever be re-used-you are just asking for trouble, sure you might get lucky and it work out fine, but why chance it? Just buy some ARP bolts then you don't hafta worry about it.

As far as finding all the torque specs for our engines, I found the repair manual at Autozone!

Uh Oh, might have broken a head bolt or two off on the block. Trying to put 100 lbs of pressure on the heads.

Don't think any head bolts are broke but I know an intake bolt broke in half cause I have a hole in my intake now. I'll find out tomorrow how many head bolts are broke when I spray a 150 shot of nitrous. Well, at least it doen't ping anymore, it just sqeeks! I see a 6.0 in my near future.
