Default Anyone with STS that offroad his truck?

I was thinking about getting a Yukon and put an intercooled STS on it. The car is going to see off road from time to time. My concern is crossing rivers and driving on soft sands. Did any of you guys try offroading their trucks with the STS kit?

My truck is stock 4x4 ride height and you would have to drive through water almost to the top of the wheels or the bottom of the doors before it could get sucked in to the turbo. It's up pretty high. You could always build a shield for the air cleaner or relocate the intake, but you have to be doing some serious off roading before you get anything into the turbo. The K&N with a sock on it would keep most any splash or sand out of the turbo.

So driving on Drift/soft sand/mud won't be a problem, but i can forget about crossing rivers when the water covers the wheels. Did STS think about a design for serious off roading. Im thinking to mount the turbo in the truck bed or within the SUV or something like that.

if your worried bout water just hose or pipe your intake filter up behind your passenger side rear fenderwell...between the bed and side panel...way up in there...no waters gonna get up there...
