Default Took my truck to the dealer for PCM upgrades

They did the upgrades, I told them that I would have to do some programming on it before it would run very well. I pulled off what they upgraded it with to EDIT and reload. I went to open up EDIT, and couldn't do anything with the file. I got a nice error message that said I can't do anything with this file.

I emailed Ken @ Carputing to see if he can help, I also called ALlen to see if I can get him to send me another PCM. Right now, my truck is at the delership sitting in a stall cause it won't run.

You've got an 03, and they loaded the newest flash for your VIN, correct? Then you downloaded the flash with Edit and tried to open it. Send it to my email and I'll try. Lets see if its a version / laptop issue.

Can you tell if the segment #1 ID number changed with the new flash?

If you have EFILive v6 (and can get it to talk to the PCM), I think it can see the segment ID's. The dealer's TechII should see the segment ID's.

I thought most tuners had the upgrades? Why not just get from Allen? Was there a reason why you needed the upgrades?

BigTex, yes, that's correct. I tried it on my desktop with all 3 different versions I have, no luck. I emailed Ken today at about 4 ... no response yet.

John, I can't see a damn thing with the flash, EDIT doesn't even recognize it as a PCM file. Here's what I get when I open it:

I have not tested with this file type, send me a copy
I:\Truck\LS1Edit Flash\03 Chevy\Revised\stock.LS1
Chev Truck Broadcast Code ID = YDNK
Year = 2003
Engine = LM7 5.3 Liter
Vin = 1GCEC14T23Z359244
Deezel, I didn't think to try EFILive. I can't try it since it's up at the shop locked up.

Ben, I've left a message with Allen, no response yet, I called him about the same time I emailed Ken, so I dunno. You are right though. I tried a PCM from Allen, he sent me one, and EDIT wouldn't let me connect to it. It was a different reason though, it said I didn't have any to program the PCM. I would guess the VIN was wrong on it or something, I dunno.

This is really annoying though .. I don't have my truck for a weekend that I really need it. This sucks ......

Well ... Ken from Caputing sent me an email and said I would have a beta tonite. I just checked, and haven't gotten it yet, but my cable has been flaking in and out.

Not only does the PCM have to have the same VIN, but it needs to have the same serial number to use the locked LS1 Edit version.
