Maybe that's why I couldn't use EDIT on the one that Allen sent me.

I just got your message, I've been out all weekend. Let me know tomorrow if you don't hear from carputing and I'll send you a pcm out to get you running until you can work things out with carputing.
I'm sure you're gonna want to continue using your edit program.

If i'm not mistaken, there's more to the lock down version than the segment id.

I think Flyer got a brand new GM update that LS1 Edit could not recognize. Ken can now add it and then it will be part of the next release so others won't have the same problem.

The segment #1 ID doesn't have anything to do with the single user locked license. LS1 Edit locks to the serial number of the flash chip inside the PCM. That's why flashing the same VIN to several PCM's doesn't let you use the locked version of Edit on all of them.

The importance of the segment #1 ID is that you can share files or try someone elses file, as long as the segment 1 ID's match. This is how we set guys up that are switching from an automatic to a manual transmission (or vice versa). Just find an application for the other transmission that has the same segment 1 ID, and you can flash the file in without messing with another license from Carputing.

John, good info.

Allen, Thanks, I got a new beta rom Carputing this morning. It turns out he has sent them already, but was sending them to a previous address instead of just sending the file in a reply.

BIG thanks to Ken @ Carputing for helping me out and being prompt about it, even though it was partially my fualt for not getting it when it was ready.

BTW .. John was right, it wasn't that I couldn't program it, it's just that I couldn't read the file to make any adjustments. I am fixing to go back up there and give it a shot. I also have to go talk to the salesman about the car (totally unrelated)
