Default Toning down exhaust

I just installed a Dynomax Ultra Flow cat back exhaust on my '08 Silverado 5.3. I like a little rumble but at 46 years old this is just a tad loud for my liking. I love the note, just need to mellow it down a little.

How about installing a Vibrant 18" bottle resonator before the muffler? or

What about installing a Dynomax 18"-22" 6" round ultra flow muffler before 24" current Ultra flow muffler. I have room for that.

Only room I have after the muffler is for a 10" case bottle resonator.

Open for suggestions
Thanks.

I tried adding resonators on my GTO and it did not do diddley squat. If you have room to add a 18" Dynomax muffler in front of the existing one, that will probably be your best bet.

Thanks for the info! That was helpful. I will scratch the resonator idea.

Any clue which one of the following would tone down the most? This is all I have room for.

Ck out this link:

A bottle type resonator will make a very small change. The ultra quiet resonators I used made a substantial change and are small (package easy). Good luck!

No problem. Post up some before and after videos. Always cool to see and might help someone out down the road. Good luck.

I noticed you installed the Ultra Quiet resonators in the tailpipes. Would you think installing one of these before the muffler have a simular effect?

Hard to say. I'm no expert. I had feedback in other threads saying it doesn't matter and others saying to put it behind the muffler.........

For what it is worth, I "believe" I've seen them both ways from the factory so it probably doesn't matter.

Maybe someone else will post up....

I will let you know in a week or so. I just ordered the Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator and plan on installing it in front of the muffler next weekend.

Thanks again for the info!
