dynomax 17776 is a super turbo 30'' long. its quite at first but comes around to a nice mellow 'there when your on it, gone when your not' tone. that mighta been a better choice (from the get go) but to each his own. good luck

You might try having a resonator tube welded on

 

Being in the same boat (kinda,im not oldat 28 but lol) i was running a 5x8x24 magnaflow on the tahoe (no headers,all stock) and it was kinda loud to me so i just put a 5x11x22 on it and it has the same tone but is more quite.

Ive tried a few resos before and didnt really have any luck..

 

I installed the Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator in front of the muffler and I am Pleased with the results!

It did slightly change the note but the main thing is it toned down the loudness and also reduced the cabin noise. I now have a nice mellow rumble that is pleasing to my ears.
