Default Tire height?

Whats the shortest tires you guys run or would recommend to run on the street. I know if I go too small I'll never get any traction. There's just not much of a selection in the 29"-30" tall performance tires. There are several more to choose from that are about 27". By the way, these would go on an 18x8.5 wheel.
thanks

to me that seems too short. with the 18 inch wheel have you considered the nitto 404's or something comparable? i think most guys with aftermarket wheels are running a 29 inch tire. i just ordered some tires from www.onlinetires.com. first site that had what i was really looking for, at a decent price. it might help you out as well.

I currently have the 285/50 Nitto 404's on the rear, but they just don't hook up as well as I'd like. I was just trying to find something with a little more performance. I was thinking that 27" might be a little short too, but I'm just looking to get everyone else's opinions. thanks

look at the falken stz-04 and 01. i just odered the 04's that look similiar to 404's. i have been told by a few people that they hook really well. however, i think the 01's would be more to your liking.

I have 245/50/r16 nitto drag radials. They look a little funny but they weight less than most tires, give me more gear, and hook pretty well. They also drive pretty smooth for being that low.
