I got the cam from vengeance, they said 7.4 should be fine. I thought you could stay stock length till .040. were thinking maybe the cam is wrong. What would make the compression so much higher an have to add so much air?

They can say whatever they want, its imperative that you measure for the proper length.

what i always do is set it dot to dot, and then take the cam out and put the new one in.

Id say take it apart and check everything out just to be sure.

Didn't you make a thread asking about what push rods to use on milled heads a while back. A 7.4 rod is not going to work with a 30 thou mill 10 or 20 yes. I get away fine with 20 thou off and a 7.4 rod. Stock length is infact 7.38. Should have measured to be sure.
