Only 40,000 on the odo. I did not change the oil pump. If it turns out to be a collasped lifter then I just might live with the sound. haha.

 

That's what I said too...check out that thread I posted, there are some additives that you can add to the oil, or you can go to a heavier weight oil.

 

I read the thread but did not find the name of the additive. Will it be for collapsed lifters specifically or just be a thickening agent?

 

I think it was just a thickening agent.

 

I had a ticking noise on a friend's truck that I just installed the cam in......it had no oil at all when he came to do the cam swap. We poured some and the ticking went away....I don't know if it's the same ticking you're talking about but hope you find the problem.
