Tick after cam
Hey guys cranked my motor today after the full rebuild I installed the 212/218 comp low lift cam with new lifters when I cranked it it had some valve train noise I know the ls motor get a sewing machine noise to them but it doesn't sound normal...I used the hardened 7.4 push rods so preload should be good what do you guys think?

Was it still ticking after 20 minutes? What I am referring to only lasts about 30 seconds max.
Did you install headers as well? Between headers and a cam install I can see how you would think something is wrong for sure.
I had headers on my old Tahoe, but this LQ9 of mine ticks way more than that did... I thought for sure I had a header leak at first.

I checked the timing too. I read somewhere that it goes away after about a week I put comp oil additive in and used Mobil 1 5w-30 too do you think I should try to thicken it up maybe the lifters haven't pumped up yet?
