Almost everyone runs a stocker or a ported stocker. The 80mm BBK is a waste of cash on a bolt-on smaller displacment vehicle. You'd need easily over 380cubes or huge cam and heads to be able to out flow the stock TB...even then I would raise an eyebrow as the hole in the stock intake manifold is the same size as the stock TB.

Here are ported ones...

What about with my supercharged application? I am also considering a 5.7 iron block with a head and cam package in the future....

Hmmm, well that is tough to say on a FI application. Since you have a Radix you are limited by the diameter of the inlet tube to the back of the Compressor.

If you could measure it and it is smaller than ~3.15" (80mm) you could get that part ported and honed to flow more to the compressor.

If the stock TB bore size on the Compressor inlet is the same size as the stock TB bore a stock ported TB is better money spent versus buying the 80mm TB and porting that inlet tube for the 80mm TB.

I hope that makes sense.

Makes perfect sense! I am going to take my spare throttle body and attempt to port it ! Nothing to lose but some time! Thanks for the info!

Yeah I think the $400 BBK TB + porting the Compressor inlet tube ($150?) will not give you any really substantial power gains...but hey if you are like me and are frugal with your expendatures, measure that hole first and if same as stocker - just port the stocker.

$550 appx, maybe more if needs to be honed, is very close to the price of a good set of LTs or EDIT.

Blomnchevy I'm running a ported stock throttlebody from Bauer racing. The ported throttlebody did make a noticable difference but I am also running a modified air intake system consisting of homemade ramair and a UPD airbox lid.You do lose a little throttle response at low speeds just off idle. The increase in power is worth it to me.
