Those who made their own CAI and ram air

well for my bro's birthday i was planning on buying him the KN FIPK but i had some tranny problems and i dont have 250 spare right now, so im going to try to come up with a design for making one.. it cant be that hard and i can just go pick up a KN filter for it..
so those of you with homemade CAI what material did you use and maybe some pictures would be helpful also..also what size is the outlet of the MAF and size of the throttle body? looks like 3 inch, but i might be wrong
TIA

This version won't work with stock clutch fan unless you find a short elbow but I couldn't find one. I used pvc pipe (thin, not thick). I needed a 90 degree elbow, 2 feet of 4 inch pipe, a 4 inch to 3 inch adapter (for MAF) and a 3 inch silicone coupler with 2 hose clamps. On the 90 degree elbow get the one where both ends allow the pipe to slip in. Cut off about 3 inches of pipe and glue it into the elblow. Cut some slots in it so it will slip over the TB. Use the factory clamp. (It's hard as hell to get it on the TB) Then measure and cut enough pipe to run to the air box area (Run the pipe UNDER the radiator hose or it will eventually become damaged.) Put the pipe in. Get the adapter and slip it over the pipe. Then use the silicon coupler to connect the adapter to the MAF. Then put 2 hose clamps to hold them together. Then put the filter on. Once you have it all how you want it glue everything together and you're done.

I would either use 3"idpvc, or dryer hose. Drill a hole in the bottom of the airbox (3") and runthe tube down to the front lower valance where it'll scoop up air. desceen you Maf, and add a k&n and you should be good to go.
