Thorley owners....inside
#1
I'm looking into a set of headers for my Z and i've got the Thorley's at the top of the list for there price. I was wondering about what rpm range did you notice the most gains at and if they affected the sound that much. I know the Thorleys are more for mid-range but i was wondering if anyone could tell me if they saw anything at about 2000 rpm or so. From a take off my truck's really been a dog until about 2500 since the added weight of my wheels and tires so i was wondering if its going to boost that any. And is everybody that bought some happy with them so far?

I do a lot of towing so theThorley's low end torque was the selling point for me. With a Yukon w/4 wheel drive, I have a heavy truck to begin with. Pulling an enclosed trailer with 7500lbs, I could keep the cruise in OD at 74 mph without sifting out. Before the Thorley's, I had to do about 78mph. So for me, the torque impovement was seen at about 2000rpm. Hope this helps!

I ordered a set of ceramic coated tri-y's on 8-19-2004. I just got an e-mail from summit saying they talked to the people at thorley and summit will get them in 7-10 days. So I'm looking at at least another 14-20 days. I'm really pissed and if I have any problems with clearance or anything I am gonna freakin go off on somebody!!!!!!! BTW I am paying like $550.00 plus s&h.

i appreciate everyone's input, but after doing some research....added with the fact i can get a set fairly cheap. Im kinda sold on the TOG's. Thorley makes a great header for mid-range, but i'm gonna go with something that's gonna benefit me more on the low side. But thanks anyway guys!
