Yeah but I had a set of thorley's on my old dodge and they kicked ***. No problems what so ever. Since I've upgraded, the parts price comparison is thru the roof. Is $429 with the ceramic coating or not? I've never even seen the hedman headers for our trucks.

 

The headers are chome plated, coated header are available for like $550.

 

What kind of a difference is there between the plated and coated?? I know that it is recommended to get the coated ones because of O2 sensor problems. Are the plated headers good enough or will they lead to problems? I am looking for a header set up that is resonablly priced that boosts llow to mid torque.

 

You got a link? I would think that the same headers that fit the 4.8L would fit on the 5.3L also. Don't think they would fit on the 6.0L though. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

 

not to bring this back from the past, but summit advertises the tri-y headers for 1999-01 trucks, i have an 03 lm7, you gusy think they would fit ok, i would have to make a block off plate for the egr but thats not a problem. i would think theyd fit

 

The chrome plated headers have worked fine for me, I have not had any SES codes or anything like it. I have about 3000 since the install and no problems, even towing an enclosed trailer and car (about 7600lbs).

Regarding the headman headers, they are raw steel, if I am not mistaken, and should be sent out for coating.
