well how about a full true dual 3" set up on a moded Lq9 6.0? My new set up is a LQ9 with a set of stage 2 heads, a 230/236 .591/601 @110 and a few other ods and ends.

I must say the hood looks bad *** on the truck, once I drop the motor in I will be moding the hood to accept the new air intake. I pick up my tranny some time here in the next few weeks and should be on the road my the first of the year.

I think they make a nice header, I've just heard of/seen a few where they're showing signs of rust through the coating. Seems like everyone who's had them has reported nice gains though.

Hey i had almost the same setup in mind.. stainless works headers.. and X pipe..two exhaust dumped before the axle...obviously this is custom mandrel bent though...I noticed that the stainless works headers dont have a flange on the end of the header to bolt the pipe to...do you just weld here?? i also saw those magnaflow stainless xpipes on ebay for a decent price.

you can have an exhaust shop weld a flange up to the headers. i wouldnt weld them together incase you ever feel like pulling it out.

The big thing to worry about is when you run too large of a pipe your exhaust velocity slows down and it hurts performance because your headders wont scavange as well. The idea is to have a vaccume in the header tubes to suck out the exhaust the next time by.
