Default TB stall and towing/daily driving

still trying to decide between the TB and a yank 2400-2600 verter..

i want something small with a nice little hole shot. I use 4x4 alot and drive the thing 24/7 so thats why i was leaning to the smaller converter.

as thes epretty efficient from 50mph punches also? I know the vig on my car sucked HP uptop but rocked off the line.

cant beat the price of the TB stall.. Tbyrne has a yank2400 for 350 i think so i was thinking of that one also

I wouldn't get anything less than the 2600. Maybe we can meet up some time at Capitol and I'll let you drive mine with the TT3000. You'll see how mild manered they are. I won't be able to make it to the shootout on Sat. at MIR or I'd let you try it there.

What are you planning for on the truck? I orginally wasn't going to do much on mine and went with a Hughes 2500. Great converter, stalls right up to 2500 no problems whatsoever and customer service is great. Would definitely recomend to anyone. But I just recently installed a cam and need to get a little higher stall converter to get off the line a little better. If you have plans for the truck down the road, I would not go any less than a 2600. A 2800 vig or even a TT3000 would be good for a mildly aggressive cam swap. Otherwise I would go for the hughes unit. Its waayyyyyy cheaper than the yanks and a very good unit.

who sells the hughes unit? Ill have to take a look at those also. I liked the TB unit because it was a 2600 stall.. i like the yank 2600 but its pricey and so is the tt3000. Only reason i was iffy on the yank3000 is because i probably put 20k per year on my truck..

If I did a cam later on, it would be very small.. something like a ls1 cam, but on 114lsa. E fans and LT headers will go on shortly also.

just wanted to make sure even the TB 2600 was good for dainly driving/work

they seem to do very well for daily driving. as for towing i'd keep it below about 5500lbs.

This guy on Ebay sells them. I got all my trans stuff from him and was very helpful in answering my email, and he has great shipping rates and combines shipping on all the stuff you buy from him. When I buy a stall, it will probably be from him too.

I have the Yank 2600 in mine and it is perfect for towing.Any thing more than 2600 would suck especially when backing up trailer or caught in traffic on incline with summertime heat.I can light up posi traction on the street with Pirelli Scorpion Zero's in a 60 series tire with no problem.Yank may be expensive, but you get what you pay for.Read thread from Yank on trailblazer stall and you will see that clutches are not as good as yank, and is also a REBUILT unit.I would not go lower than 2600 either since the 2600 drives like stock as far as street manners.
