I haven't really seen much in the way of gains either but it does make sense in theory, just not really.

I plan on doing mine when my shoulder and elbow heal and I mess around with the throttle body a little bit. I have a used BBK 80mm that I bought a while back and an 02 6.0 throttle body that I'm gonna try a little homebrew p&p on. Hopefully I get the chance before winter...it gets pretty cold here, but not -15 unless you count wind chill. We do see a few 0* days though. I remember that creederado mentioned to me once that he did the TB bypass and he lives or lived in upstate NY, much further north from me where it gets quite a bit colder than it does in Jersey, and he didn't have any problems. I sprung for the BMR Fabrication TB Bypass kit for the heck of it...think it was like $15 and it came with a billet bypass adapter, clamps, and the caps to block off the pipes on the throttle body. Ha, it even came with instructions for the mechanically impaired.

actually the line on my truck from the rad to the tb was long enough to do all of it . i just wanted to leave mine looking stock because techniquly . its considered a emmisions part for cold starts and exhuast temps and gas . so some dealerships like mine would void my warrenty for tempering with emissons standards

I did mine last week. The worm drive clamps and 1/4" vacum caps I got at pepboys. I had to go to home depot to get the brass 1/4" barbed splicer piece. I think it made a little difference. Probably placebo though.

I did both of my trucks absolutely free. personally I don't like the idea of splicing anything. splicing=leaking most of the time. The factory hose IS long enough and if you get creative with the routing no one will ever be able to tell. It sure as hell makes getting the TB on and off much easier after the bypass. That was the driving force for me to even do it the first time. I hate those tiny spring loaded clamps.

Yup, much easier to take the throttle body on and off after that. Thats really the only reason I plan on doing it on the new Z71.

Yup me too. When I was pulling the motor out of my truck I jsut cut a bunch of those so Ill use regular hose clamps when I put it all back together.
