Default supercharger questions

I was thinking about bolt ons like CAI and stuff like that then I decided that I should just skip the little stuff and save up and supercharge it of course that will be awhile but I was wondering what all I would have to do to get my motor and tranny ready to support it. The last thing I need is to blow up my motor a few weeks after getting a super charger.

for the tranny I would at least get a shift kit and servos. Forged parts would be ideal for the motor but not completely necessary as long as you dont go crazy with boost.

What are your expectations of the supercharger? That will determine how much you need to beef up your drivetrain. How do you drive is important as wel? Every forced induction system is going to put added stress on the drivetrain.

A more direct answer to your question is:
1. Transmission will be toast in the future
prolong it with a shift kit and servos
2. G80 will grenade
3. The motor will take moderate boost for a long time

60K miles on my Radix, lost the tranny, but my G80 is still working (if you can call it that) and no problems with the motor. If you don't go nuts the only real weak link is the trans.

I'm not planning on turning it into a "race truck" I'll take it to the strip every now and then but basicly its just going to be an expensive toy. Then again thats what my truck is but anyway..... yeah I was thinking shift kit and servo but the thing i'm worried about most is the motor. I just broke 100k miles and i'm not sure what it can take. Advice?

First I would review its service history and how its been treated.
Second, do a compression check.
Third, a leakdown test.

that should give you a pretty-good indication of what shape she is in.

I listed the above in order of ease, with the the first choice being easiest.
