60,000 miles of no problems (engine problems that is). Overall the engine has 130,000. I just got hptuners and at high rpms there is some kr (not very much, but some). I do want to get different injectors, but I'm not concerned with the 4.8. I will be putting in a forged bottom-end 6.0 soon and I want to up the boost to around 15lbs or so. Can anyone give me a suggestion of what size injectors I should use? I've asked this question to a few different people and got MANY different answers. I need to know what to use and where to get them (plug and play hopefully). On another note, I don't mean to sound like a jerk and I certainly hope I don't come off that way. I was simply telling you of my experience with the ATI kit. I only know 1 other person with an ATI (on a fox body mustang) so I have nothing to compare it with. I am certainly happy with it as it knocked off quite a bit of 1/4 mile time with little problem right out of the box. Maybe I am one of the "lucky ones" ( I'm usually not) and if that's the case than great. Please, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated and like I said, I don't want to argue with anyone; I am just looking for knowledge and I don't mind helping other people whenever I can.

If you would like to figure out your own injector size this is some good reading. About mid way down the page or so it gives you the formula to figure it out. Just remmeber that our fuel pressure without an FMU is about 58-63psi.

You can't go by boost when choosing an injector size. You need to know how much HP you are going to be making. Ditch the FMU bandaid and get some 50+lb injectors.

[QUOTE=greentahoe]Im not meaning to be a *****, so I hope that is not how I cam off. QUOTE] I didn't think you were being a "*****". I wan't to discuss these things. Anything that will help me (an others) is worth conversing about. If someone is going to give me free "good advice" than they can be a rude and nasty as they want as long as in the end my truck is faster.

Are you running a larger fuel pump? If you are seeing KR at the higher RPMs, that is prob an indication of being a little lean. 60,000 mile of no problems that have come up yet, take a bore scope and check the pistons and valves.....The stock injectors could not possibly be doing a good job at 10 psi, that is just a fact.

Not trying to be a ***** either, just pointing out a fact.

I only have the boost pump provided with the procharger kit. I've never looked into the engine with a bore scope, but there is never any metal in the oil or on the spark plugs. Yes it is pulling some timing at high rpms (usually 10-11lbs boost), but up to 9lbs it isn't pulling timing. The engine still runs GREAT at 130,000 miles ( beaten daily). I've gone through 2 rears and 3 manual (garbage)transmissions, but never had any engine trouble. It probably would benefit from larger injectors, but the point remains that the procharger kit is a complete kit for what is was designed. Not to beat a dead horse, but if the 4.8 does let go, It will be all that more of a kick in the *** to finally get the 6.0 installed. When that time comes, I will most definately get much larger injectors and a bigger fuel pump as well as look into a "better" fmu.
