I noticed that my rear end makes less noise then before, and seems like it runs smoother. I also noticed on the touch it temp gauge that it runs a little cooler in the rear now!

ching
With all the mods
fuel miles went up
def quieter - esp when cold
esp on my 91
Biggest was I had changed the diff fluid in the 91
A year later - I had an axle seal that was leaking
I pulled the rear cover
and the fluid was as clean as the day I put it in.
I was shocked - the inside was real clean and the
back of the cover had a clean fluid line
I swear my the Mobil 1.
Works for me.

I thought that all of the new body style GM trucks used synthetic oil from the factory, at least thats what the tag said on my '02 truck. Only problem is its like $28 a bottle, but you can get it cheaper if you find a good dealer.

Personally I wouldn't use anything other than GM oil or Redline

I know the papers and stuff that came with the Eaton recommend a specific oil weight and friction modifier. They even gave GM part numbers.
Let me see if I can find it.
quote from instructions for eaton posi lsd.......
It is strongly recommende the Eaton Posi LSD you have purchased be installed using a Mineral Based 80W90 Gear Oil(GM#1052271) and a 4oz. bottle of Limited Slip Additive(gm#1052358). The Eaton Posi LSD is not recommended to be used with synthetic gear oils.
Be sure to visit our website @ www.traction.eaton.com for more information on your purchase of what we believe is the best limited slip differential in the aftermarket. #99998142100

This came out of the box on the Eaton that i recieved last week.
