Default STS (new) Dyno #'s

Ok, so new springs/pushrods, new tune, more timing, more boost.........

Done on 9psi with Methanol:
470awhp
525awtq

Done with 5psi "basic" setting (no Meth)
381awhp
429awtq

Stock #'s for an "fyi":
281awhp
304awtq

Now, convert that into a 30% drivetrain loss!!!

Long story short on the runs:
I only got one run in on the 9psi setting. The Oil Filler Neck was leaking and caused a small fire on the valve cover so I left. I'll have to use some silicone or something. I'll dyno again soon so that I can get a few more runs in. I did get the first two runs in on the 5psi setting (no Meth).

Problem #2:
On the way home, oil started spewing out of the Turbo. Turns out the Oil Pump failed and doesn't put the oil back into the motor so it has to "exit" somehow. I pulled over because it started a huge cloud of blue smoke from the hot exhaust/turbo burning up the oil. Everything should be fine. I think the pump just went bad. Xtreme is going to check it today/tomorrow and replace whatever went bad (had it towed there). That part didn't last long! The transmission so far has lasted 100 miles with no issues! Ha ha!!

Awesome numbers, I thought your first ones were pretty weak. So how does 470awhp feel?

5 psi #s look much better. 9 lb #s are impressive. Now you need to get the oil pump replaced so you can have some fun. Better start saving for the new tranny also.

That's more like it. Good #'s. It may not be the pump, it could be just bad relay or thermal fuse.

Wow, those numbers really jumped up there. Much better.

Thats scary. Imagine that happening on the road while driving. You wouldn't know it until the smoke started billowing out, but then it may be too late.

Your experience with this kit is starting to scary me. But great numbers, I can’t wait tell next week for mine.

Yep, the #'s before were WAY messed up. Tune was way off from the meter being wrong. Now there is much more timing in it and the A/F is closer. Still too lean at the 5psi setting and about 10.8 at the 9psi setting. More in it, but I like the "richer" side rather than being too lean. I understand that if I want to lean it up some on the Meth, it will lean it up too much before the Meth kicks in (around 4psi).

So anyway, yeah, without the proper Tune the #'s don't mean anything.

Jerry2500 - you may be right. Could be any of the above. It must have happened on the dyno because I noticed it on the way home. I wonder what could have caused that? The torque? LOL!

1Blown04 - It feels pretty ridiculous in a 5700lb hog! I was used to it in my Heads/Cam Z06. It will take some getting used to having this much power in a big rig!

quicksilverado - I was suprised to see another, what, 100hp/100tq going from 5psi to 9psi on the Meth. That's a HUGE jump.

BigTex - Agreed. It was scary enough hearing the screaming whine (the alarm to let me know the oil pressure was messed up) then looking back and seeing smoke just bellowing from behind!
