Also check how the connections were made. My alarm started sounding in psurts and I'd get a quick puff of smoke out the rear. Then a huge one. I pulled over and called Rick who in turn got me in touch with Rick.S and while on the side of the road we found the problem to be a bad T-Tap. T-taps suck!!! I McGyver'd it to the main batt. terminal and off I went.

It is really a good idea to know how your system works no matter what brand it is in case stuff like that happens. I could have been left stranded and had to tow it the 75miles back to home or a shop but it got fixed in less than 15min with some creative handy work and a really sharp house key. LOL

Great #s BTW. Better than my first time on the dyno! I can't wait to see what it runs. I assume you are happy now?

Thanks man! Yes, it feels pretty crazy getting this pig moving out THIS FAST! Mike is guessing mid 13's, which, is low 13's everywhere else. I'm not so sure, especially with the stock converter. But they all swear it's faster than their 13.7 truck. I'm going to try to get there Friday for some real 1/4 mile numbers. The best part is that I now have some serious torque steer!! Once it hits boost, then Meth, it wants to pull the wheel out of my hand! The last car I drove that had a similar feeling was a Cadillac STS with the Northstart. Not bad, but just tugging enough that you need to hold the wheel tight!

Here's the deal on the problem. When the filler cap leaked the bit of our and started the small fire, the guy at the dyno pulled the plastic covers off. He must have bent down one of the metal pieces in the STS kit which was then touching another metal part (sorry, need more details) but it ended up blowing the fuse and stopping the pump. Bent it back, changed the fuse, and it's good to go. I need to learn up a bit more on the specifics of every inch of the kit. Like you said, out in the middle of no where, I would have been in trouble!

On the numbers... Xtreme called STS (I'm assuming for the issue I had) tonight. They mentioned the numbers I put down and they were evidently quite shocked! I wonder how many of the LQ4/LQ9's there are out there running around with this setup? It spooled SO MUCH faster on the dyno today that last time with less boost/timimg/etc. I couldn't believe how fast it went between gears this time!

you are geting some killer numbers. seems like the meth must be helping out quite a bit.

i think your ET's will be strongly dependant on how hard you can brake boost it on the launch. my sugestion is forget about the light, push as hard as you can on the brakes and then mash the gas, once the power overpower the brakes and you start moving then let off the brakes.

I so glad to hear that it was a "simple" fix for the pump. That is a HUGE relief for me.
(and you I'm sure)

Interesting. The Escalades and Denali SUVs have a Borg Warner AWD transfer case that has a firm set ratio to deliver torque to the front and rear wheels. The SS, C3, and Sierra Denali have a New Venture Gear AWD case that adjusts torque levels front and back all the way to 100% if needed. The main reason for the different case between lines is the SUVs have traction control, which is adjusts torque at the front axle, while the trucks do not. My truck doesn't have any problem with torque steer unless I'm doing a burnout. But I'm working on an Escalade with a stroker that does have torque steer.

Lets see your Gtech 0-60 time now.

Unfortunately right now I can't brake-stall it up very high. I'll have to check tomorrow to be certain but I don't think I was seeing 2psi when I tried it.

Here's a copy of my dyno (graph). It's a bit choppy, but I can "smooth" it if necessary. Don't look at the Torque numbers as they're really not that high; it's the spike. But lining it up you can see the 525, actually a hair more, mark.

I would think there would be a button for the Traction Control like on most other vehicles, but there isn't. The torque steer really isn't that bad, it's just not something I ever expected to feel in this. My very flat 305's will of course add to it.

I'll do a G-Tech tomorrow and post back. What will kill a great time is my low stock stall. I think I saw maybe 2psi on the brakes??? I'll have to watch that tomorrow too...
