You could build a 382 out of a 5.3L truck or a 4.8L truck!

I doubt that you'll find any true stroker "kits" for the 5.3 engine. But, there are a few manufacturers who make stroker cranks and rods for the LS1 based engines. Those will fit the 5.3 block. Then the issue is getting correct pistons. Prices for the crank itself are several thousand. Then you run into the problem of the 5.3s heads not flowing well enough to support that power. Cant tell you any ET gains, but more cubes would definitely up the torque. With a 4" stroke, you would net about 360 ci.

A better budget solution would be buying a 01+ 6 liter longblock thats already 364 ci. Have it bored .060 over, and get the crank offset ground for a little longer stroke, then add forged pistons. This would give you 383 ci. This option isn't all that cheap, but its cheaper than a Lunati crank.

Rumor is that there is a 4" stoke that may be coming our way via Australia that's rated for 600hp or 800hp (don't remember which) applications for about $800. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I'll post when I can get more info.
