Stock exhaust flow
#1
Soo i have a thread going already to help with my muffler decision. But the more and more I read, i start to wonder about true duals. My original plan was to just replace the stock muffler, with an aftermarket one. I do not have major plans for my truck, its my DD work truck and may just see a tune with e-fans. Before I go ahead and buy a muffler, does the stock exhaust flow enough as it is to support my 4.8 with the mods i plan on doing. I guess what im asking is, are true duals on a bolt on 4.8 necessary...or is just replacing the muffler for a better flowing one, enough.??
Thanks Mike

No point on a bolt on 4.8L you need to make over 400hp before more than a 3" cat back is necessary. A simple muffler replacement is all you need. Throw a nice Magnaflow on there and drive happy.

Thanks for the reply Gamble
Yah thats good to know, because going true duals really drives the cost of exhaust mods up...I already have a 78 Trans Am that im in the middle of an engine change over so mojority of my coin is going that direction
