I just pulled the LS1 out of my truck to swap with a 408 and it had been leaking a little.

I haven't heard of any common problems with them from the factory, but I have read that if they aren't installed with the proper tool, problems/leaks will more than likely occur.

I heard that the old style rear seals leaked alot and they(GM) redesigned them to fix this problem. I don't know if this true or not.....but if you have the engine out, then I would R&R it.
