How about I'd they did the work for free? Would you still try to get a better deal? Like get them to pay you for letting then work on your hacked up truck?

Nope, but your not satisfied with any answer and feel like your being ripped off even though you have paid nothing to these shops.

Like the dude said yesterday...offer McDonald's $2.50 for a big Mac combo and see if it works.

I can't get ripped off since I didn't pay it.

Yes there is no way you can possibly lagitamize the $350 and you have to strech like crazy to call $250 on the edge of reasonable.

Dude since your on a budget, why dont you just get under there and unbolt it where it goes back to the rest of the pipes, and cut off all the hangers that are hold the muff and tail pipe on and be done.

I don't want it super loud. That is why I am running the pipe my self. If it is loud straight piped I will add a muffler. Good news is I will be able to add a muffler if I need to and still be well under my original budget.

Sorry to say stuff just isn't the way it was. You can't even buy a pre bent JUNK exhaust system that you install your self for that, let alone have a shop do it, expect mandrel bends, a decent job, ect. I think 250 was a fair deal, you have to take into consideration the cost of them to run their equipment, use their gas, pay an employe. And it is going to be loud with just converters, a strait pipe, will probably have a wicked red neck crack to it at anything over 1/2 throttle.
