Default Starting issues??

Justice(name of the truck) has been hard to start last few months. what wierd is you turn on once let it sit for 10 or so seconds, roars to life. but jump in hit key right away, spit and sputters until finially starting,(no roar).

please don't tell that my truck has image problem of wanting to be a diesel

fuel pressure check out at 60 psi with key in run postion, engine running (idleing) 58 psi, pull the reference off goes to 62 psi.

Injectors giving up the ghost or fuel pump??? or is my cranking ve just that far off.

Thanks
CT

PS Sorry Tierod, hope to get heads soon, got a pile of parts, laying around. Not to mention fixing the front end.

Cam position sensor, way too common of a problem on the 8.1's. I have one just havent had time to put it in, that and the fact its an absolute bitch to get at. My truck every once in a while will crank longer than usual then just fire right up. I know of a few people this has happened to.

Sounds to me like it is trying to purge the fuel line before it starts. There maybe a slight leak in your return side of you fuel system allowing it to drain back faster so you have to leave the key on for a second then the fuel pump will purge then when you hear the fuel pump shut off fire it up and it should "roar" right up. I say this because in my car I had to drill a very small hole in my regulator to lower the fuel pressure with the high flow pump so now when I shut it off the line empties so when I go to start it I have to let it purge then lines then crank and it will fire right up if not then it will just crank until the fuel line gets purged.

I have to wait a few sec before starting my truck. Installed the bigger fuel system when I did the STS kit. I just deal with it and wait. I was told it could be the fuel pressure "bleeding" off while sitting off. Try shutting it off and immediately restarting it. Mine will fire right off in that case.
