Default Stall Converters and Towing

Anybody out there running a stall converter that pulls a trailer? Wanting to upgrade to about a 2500 stall converter but I pull a race car occasionally, anyone have any practical experience here? I have been told that once it locks up its just like stock.

I went with a Yank 2400, it retains fulling towing ability. I ordered it a week ago, just waiting for it to arrive. It was $369 and the 2600 was like $649, couldn't see paying another $280 for only another .1 gain.

LOL, I know a lot of people that would pay $280 to run a tenth faster. As long as you run a "Trailblazer based converter (280mm), you will be able to tow all you want. My Yank Truck Thruster 3000 dropped my 1/4 mile times 6 tenths, but I can still tow all I want. Those who get a lowly 2400 based on the stock 300mm converter are leaving lots of performance on the starting line...lots more than just a tenth.

i agree, the 3000 is so driveable i don't know why anyone would consider anything less and since it is the highest stall i have seen with full towing it seems like it would be your best bet. someone will chime in here if there are other brands to consider i am sure.

i have let several people borrow my truck, just toss them the keys and don't say anything about the 6.0, blower or stall. no one said anything about the stall just said how strong it felt.

oh yea, $280 for 1/10, hell yea all day long although i bet it is alot mre than .1

whipple 1.5 sec for $3800 = $253/10th
headers .2 for $700 = $350/10th
stall .6 for $700 = $116/10th
intake .1 for $300? = $300/10th
6.0 .4 for $1500 = $375/10th

those are some highly unscientific numbers but are probably in the ball park. a stall rules!!!!!

Well excuse the **** out of me! I wasn't aware that if someone did a mod that you "mod gurus" don't agree with, that gives you the right to rag all over his ***. I may have to quit posting on this site, to much <img border="0" alt="[bullshit]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" />

y2k I respect your choice.

my race car has a 3500 stall with no lock up! it sucks on cruzing, but the car is not built for cruzing. With the magic of lockup converters we get rid of alot of the drawbacks of a high stall. Your choice in converters is your choice! some pepole like catsup on hotdogs some like mustard, its not beter or worse its different, its just there choice.

I want the new Magnacharger Radix blower, but the PowerDyne is half as much. Beter or worse??

Different.
