Default Stainless Steel turned Yellow

Is there anyway to prevent it or polish it back to a shiny silvery finish? My magnaflow exhaust tips that are polished SS turned yellow a long time ago, is there any way to get it back to the way they looked brand new? aside from buying new tips that will just yellow out too in a few hundred miles?

is it like yellow like gold-ish bronze? cuz most the magnaflow tips I've seen (usually on 6.6s that come in 2 work) are kinda a bronze gold.. I take it from EG heat

It's all due to heat. You can buff it out, but it's a bitch depending on the alloy and how long it's been like that. I can't remember what compound we used when polishing the stuff for the golden nugget job. I know you can buy some good stainless polish compound from triple s steel here in houston. there's a bunch of places online that sell it too.

ha that's pretty good.

the stuff you're talkin about is in a blue spray can, it's okay but it's not really for removing the yellow tint. You could try the foose ball thing that attaches to a cordless drill. I use one for my wheels and some other parts and I love it.
