Default SSS 6.0 Headers

I want to get headers for my silverado SS. I keep hearing great things about the ebay OBX style headers. I really dont want to dish out $1000 for headers as my truck is just a DD that I want to make a bit quicker and more efficient, not to mention sound better.

Anyone know if the 5.3L headers fit 6.0 trucks?

Yes, 5.3 headers will fit the 6.0 engines with cathedral ports (so not the L92 heads on the new 6.0s). Check out LPP headers (google, non sponsor), 3" collectors, 1 3/4" primaries, stainless steel, no cats and good quality. Use bands clamps if needed on whatever you get.

Good info here https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=468480

+1 on the LPP's... just ordered a set yesterday. I have seen them in person, and was very impressed with them. You can catch them listing a set on ebay sometimes and save about $50 over going direct.

Get the OBX knockoffs on ebay for under $300 shipped...5.3 headers will fit your heads, but the catted mid pipes will not...SSS has factory duals, no Y pipe

Oh yeah, on the LPP longtubes, as well as any other LT's with a Y pipe for a 5.3/4.8, the Y pipe won't work since 6.0's have true duals. The headers will work, you will just have to take it to an exhaust shop and have them make you the pipes to hook up to your exhaust.

I have the LLP's on my silvy and all though they look nice and all that i think its only a matter of time before the flange will seperate from the primaries..There made from stainless but i think they'll still rot away... If i had to do over again i would def pick up a set from American Racing Headers...

Stainless work, dyna tech are both good brands also..

Just like anything else these days you get what you pay for..

ill give another vote to the LPP headers. I have them on my 04 SSS and love them. Yes the y-pipe will not work unless you swap to a single exhaust like i did but any decent exhaust shop can fab up a set of duals. all they will have to do is cut the y-pipe at the merge and run pipe off of each side. im running a single 3.5" setup on my truck and im very happy with it. i however dont agree that the flanges will separate from the primaries...
