Default SSR torque converter

Is there a difference with the SSR converter and a 1/2 ton 5.3?

Some one just recently in a post mentioned that a 03/04 SSR converter would have a little higher stall in a 1/2 ton?

Which one can't you get answers about, the SSR or the TBlazer? If it's the TB, there is a lot of people running substantial mods with them and very few issues. The stahl is in the 2600-2800 depending on the truck and mods. Mine is 2800 in a SS with tune, cam & CAI. The performance improvement is huge in the area of holeshot. I can't break all 4 loose, but I have felt the front end shifting from side to side hunting for traction. Prior to the converter change I thought the first 100 feet was very slow waiting for the power to kick in.

I know nothing about the SSR converter.

TB will stall to around 2500-2600 on a 5.3, probably just under 3,000 on a 6.0

I know I read somewhere that the converter clutch in the TB is smaller than the 1/2 ton, so if the SSR has the same one it may pose problems with towing.

I could be wrong but I don't think the the clutch is smaller. It appears to have a smaller turbin and same size clutch. However. if you are planning on towing a lot of heavy loads, stay with the stock converter.
