LS1 Project (PICS)
#1
Just picked up my LS1 long block last week
Here are Pics, dont mind the mess. Winter makes the trash runs a little slow

Started tearing into it as soon as I got it on the stand and need some opinions. Going to be using the LS1 heads with my 5.3 Intake and need a good cam that will help out on the low end since I'm pushing a heavy truck w/ heavy wheels.
Any choices for a good cam that will help down low but not loose too much up top too?
Also been thinking about the Trailblazer stall too so I guess that might make a difference on my cam choices possibly?

Anything like a Thunder 224/224 would be nice and strong but streetable! That what Im putting in mine as soon as I get a stall. I ended up putting the 212/218 I had in my 4.8 for two weeks before it died into the LS1. Plus Im using the stock stall so it made sense. Its bigger than stock so it will work for now! I love my LS1 and it has alot more left in it! The torque I gained was the best part but close after was the top end(its crazy compared to the 4.8) and thats with stock truck exhaust manifolds!

I was just looking into the TR224 last night. Sounds like a good choice. Thanks guys

What exactly was happening that you had trouble with warm starts
I've got a tune right now, but I'm tring to see how much has to be changed to get it to work right w/ the LS1. Just wondering if I need to pay for a whole new tune or if I can send it back to TSP and have them just do a retune.
