hey folks,,,,kinda long but good

went and discussed getting an eaton and tranny rebuild a week back and made the appointment for today,,thursday,,but was only gonna get the posi done first,,then next week get the tranny done. well,,left the truck at the shoppe and an hour later the guys calls me and asks me for the torque converter i told him i had planned on putting in. i was like,,WTF,,only the rear today,and he is like,,,man,,i already have your tranny out and apart,,so i figure what the hell,,tell him to go ahead,,drop off the yank tt2600 and leave,, 5 hours later,,he calls and tells me to pick it up.,,,,,,,,,i get there,,and hes like,,,"i had two guys and myself whip this up for ya",,to make up for the misunderstanding,,,,,,,,hi-po rebuild on the tranny,,clutches,,sprags,,boost valve,,vette accumulator,,custom clearances and adjustments on the valvebody,,,,,,2 year unlimited mileage warranty,,,,,,,eaton posi installed,,,,,,out the door for 1220.00,,,,,,,,,,i tell him im gonna spray on sticky tires,,,,,,hes like,,,,,so,,,if it breaks,,bring it back,,,he said usually its 1700 just for the tranny,,but since he screwed up,,he charged me parts and labor for the crew on the tranny and regular for the posi,,,,,im figuring i got swindled,,,,drive out ,,,,,,,and WHOLLY FRIGGIN CRAP,,,,,,,shifts nice and firm/quick at part throttle,,,,,and comes unglued at WOT,,,,,,barks second and almost third,,,,,,,,,sweeeeeeeeeeeet,,,,so anyone in socal,,,,,try a place called THE TOY SHOP transmissions,,,,,,really cool guy,,looks like an old redneck,,,but knows his stuff and his work is great,,ill keep everyone informed on if this lasts or not and maybe we have a socal tranny guru,,,,,,,anyhow,,sorry its long,,but figured you guys would like this,,,,,,oh,,,,another mention if for allen at nelson performance,,got my built tranny/converter tune,,,,,,all i got to say ,,,,,FLAWLESS !,,se ya guys around,,,

more props for allen here got mine tuned 3 days ago and the only reason i am throwing any lights at all is i had him tune it for 410 gears that werent installed yet .... other than that roars like a raped ape and will rip your neck off all the way till 6200 rpm's met him personally could not be a better guy

i jsut called them, am i crazy or is $300 a little pricey for a shift kit install?

Thats kinda high even including the shift kit. I've been quoted 150 by several shop for shift kit, servos and acc. springs with me prviding it all.

I don't think they will install your shift kit....I called them and asked about getting a Transgo installed and they refused to do it. From what I understand, they have their own 'shift kit' engineered and that's the only one they will install. Maybe it's good, maybe it's not, I don't know, but maybe the reason the price is so high is that it's the price for both their materials and labor.

Default the toy shop transmissions locations

the are located in pomona,,,,,,,,,7 minutes from my house,,,,sweet
today on the drive to and from work (20 miles each way) the tranny felt super and even had a lower rpm than what i was used to,,,meaning,,before at 70 it would be close to 2500,,,,,now its at 2100,,,,,,,,,talk about a burnt up 3-4 clutch pack,,anyhow,,ill keep everyone informed
