1. will an ls6 intake work in the trucks and how much work/what else is needed to make it work? and how much can you gain from it?yes it will but it is not worth the gains for the $
2. i may swap out a 6.0 sometime down the line, will that bolt up to my 4l60e? and will the harness be the same?Yes as long as the 6.0 is 2001 or newer.
3.is it worth the money to buy roller rockers for the ls motors? No
4. if i do get the 6.0 what would be some general things to modify, this is a daily driver im not looking for a race truck just sometlhing decently quick and will beat most stock cars.headers and exhaust, at least 3000 stall converter, 4.10 gears, aftermarket cam, cutsom tune, maybe shave the stock heads. You will beat a lot of cars. Then add a shot of nitrous if you want more.

thanks in advance.
Or you could get nitrous, stall, cam, custom tune, 8.1L 31#injectors for you 5.3 and it will run real good launching it in 4hi spraying outta the hole. It will beat all those cars you mentioned from a stop that is for sure.

well as of this moment i do have a cheater kit, but im not a real big fan of nitrous on the street and its not going to be an all out race truck. will the injectors help everything else out? i already have 3.73s so 4.10s wont be enough of a change. i mite do 4.56s but i can never seem to find frone end gears. what is stock comp? i wans thinking of having them milled but id prolly do that on the 6.0.

yea the truck ran 16.7 at best and my friends GT runs 14.9 and it like to be able to beat him so would i be able to hit mid 14s with my ls6cam? LTs stall injectors and a vortech? cuz that should be around 450 at the crank, just a vortech is almost 100hp and the cam is like 50. anybody know the powerband of the 02 ls6 cam?

I had 3.73s and went to 4.10s with tru trac, and it was the best investment i've made on my truck.

Dont forget when you start to mod your motor you are going to have to mod the trans. It will not take much abuse in stock form. If you hang out and read for a while you will see what you can and cannot get away with. This is the best forum if you want to go fast in a truck. You will find anything from mild and practical to wild 1200 hp turbo 4wd trucks. Just spend some time here and take the advice of these guys they know there ****.

are you reg cab or ext cab.?

id reccommend a 2600-2800 stall seeing as you said you would be towing
you havent mentioned anything about a turbo, are you against one or just havent thought about it.

so low 13s would satisfy you??

IMO nothing has the towing power on the low end that a radix or twin screw SC has

this is the order to do mods anyways,
minor bolt on motor mods - headers, exhaust, intake, tune, efans, etc.
built trans and stall
4.10 gears front and rear with a eaton lsd or detroit trutrac in the rear, currently no locker available for the front
then either a motor swap or boosted (SC or TC)
then the other one swap or boost

yea i was planning on doing the trans too with the 6.0. whic ive rebuilt about 4 now so that will save me alot of money to do it myself. its a extended cab short bed. im not against a turbo and may opt that way but for towing like you said i would go with a roots blower. do they have any turbos besides the sts remote mount, i dont like the idea of having a turbo hanging under my truck and if i go mudding or something that probably wouldnt end well. so what would it take after the 6.0 to hit 13's. i will be doing a larger cam because i love to be able to hear a cam.

so 3.73s to 4.10s made that much of a diffrence? but i do have larger then stock tires too so that would probably put me basically back to stock. where can i get front gears? i have to fix a leaky axle seal and you basically have to pull the housing for that anyway so i was going to do gears then. is there anything between a 4.10 and 4.56s?

sounds like you need to invest some time in using the search button.

Almost everything swaps over between 6.0's and 5.3L the only exception being an oil cooler line or something silly like that.

You can't even tell the difference between a 5.3L and a 6.0 just looking at it. While they aren't the same block, they look exact.

Headers, intakes, efans, transmissions, pcms, etc will all swap over between a 4.8,5.3,5.7(ls1), 6.0, and any lsx based v8.
