Some random questions
#1
i have a couple general performance questions.
i have a 99 silv Z71 5.3
1. will an ls6 intake work in the trucks and how much work/what else is needed to make it work? and how much can you gain from it?
2. i may swap out a 6.0 sometime down the line, will that bolt up to my 4l60e? and will the harness be the same?
3.is it worth the money to buy roller rockers for the ls motors?
4. if i do get the 6.0 what would be some general things to modify, this is a daily driver im not looking for a race truck just sometlhing decently quick and will beat most stock cars.
thanks in advance.

1. yes the intake will physically bolt up to the heads but it also requires other modifications, gains are typically on the top end and stay the same down low. search for ls6 intake swap or car intake swap, Kano did a write up about it.
2. yes it will bolt up just fine. use your current intake manifold and everything will bolt up.
3. actually the LSx motors have roller rockers stock
4. not sure what you mean by this but some typical things are headers, exhaust, cold air intake, custom tune, cam/valvetrain, rod bolts, ported heads, car intake, etc.

yea i just ment what would be some good things to change well the motor is out. if i buy headers now for my 5.3 will they also bolt to a 6.0 or are the heads diffrent? how good is the stock 6.0 bottom end/whole motor? or like 1000hp or anything i just dont have 1k to spend on just a crank so if i get a low miles motor do you think a rehoan and rings will be ok, if it even needs to be hoaned?

are you saying that you want 1000hp or saying that you dont?
if your just looking for a street motor, and under 10psi if boosted, a lowmiles stock shortblock is fine dont even need to diassemble it

i would like it! who wouldent. but thats not what im after. will a stock 6.0 hold 10 psi? so what would be consitered a low miles? what would you recommend for a cam? do they make blower cams for our motors or would that have to be a custom grind?

too many questions and not enough specifics, lol
first you need to decide
how much power do you want?
are you lookin for a 1/4 mile et goal?
how will you use the truck? answered in first post
how radical are you willing to go on the setup?
how much is the budget?
btw, every application you can think of drivetrain/weight wise has a different cam that will work best. you will need to decide on everything you will do before you choose a cam or you will change the several times

well im def not new at modding im just usto the 1st gen 350s. i dont know much bout computer and that stuff. i dont really care how radical but it is a dd remember. i wouldnt care if you can hear the cam but also like i said i dont have a g to drop on a stroker crank. i want a budget power build. i was thinking the 6.0 and a vortech and maybe a blower cam if they have a decent one. and i still want somewhat ok mileage. not like 4, lol. at least mid 14s im sick of being beat my sieanna minivans and vw 1.8Ts, lol. i do also tow pretty often too though. idk let me know wht you think. if you need more info let me know
