Who is "Everyone" that is telling you it's too big.

It's big, yes but you can run it. I'd run a 3600 or so my self tho.

its not too big... not sure if you'll see a huge gain over your current one though.

224 is a lot of duration for 323 cubes in a daily driven 5200 lb truck, you'll have to spin it quite a bit to get to the meat of the powerband of that cam in a 5.3, and I'd suggest at least a 3400 converter to get you into that powerband sooner, or it may be soggy down low. But if you're dead set on it, slap it in and find out for yourself...opinions vary

For a 5.3, it is not huge, on the bigger side, kinda. But in your case you have a heavy truck, would def want that bigger verter to take full advantage of that cam.. In a lighter truck it would be better, due to the effective power range of that cam, weight factor.. Like said the cam you have now will prob be just as good, but the tr224 will be more of a hit when the power comes on(peaker hp) and pull a lil more in the rpm band

talked to futral and a couple of ppl that have put cams in ls motors, i want to run a 3600 but was just checking my options, i am puttin 3.73s cause i will be running highway alot so i dont want to kill my gas mileage, i just wanted to kno wat the big deal was with it. i havent even stalled this cam yet so i was trying to decide to just stall and keep this cam or start over with the tr224 and stall it. thanks
