Default Smoked another 4l60e

I just built this damn 4l60e for my work truck a few months ago. I figured that is would last a while behind the 5.3 but thats what I get for thinking

I am NOT going through this crap again, have already spent more on 60e parts that I could have had a 80e a long time ago. At least I am already familar with what is involved with the conversion. 4l60's suck !!! Sorry, just venting.....

Is it the same things that keep going? What is it? I assume its just the bands, or is there more?

I must be pretty lucky, mine is still kicking. It started slipping a bit at the light this morning though

What about the PATC 4l60-e? is this trans comparable to a 4l80-e? When I mean comparable I mean within the same amount of power capbility?

i think what f8lz71 is saying is that it is still a peice of ****, and he went through 5 of them and they were built, even suppose to hold more power and they still broke.

Thats where I got my parts-I have everything you can put in the thing. Actually I have 2 4l60e's built to the max, both smoked as we speak. The last time it was a converter that came apart internally and it trashed the whole tranny. That really wasn't the trannys fault, I guess, but it got so hot on the way home it turned the cooler lines blue !! This time I think I have the dreaded 3-4 clutch failure.

I dont have any pesonal experience with their trannies but I live about 10 minutes from that place and as far as taking care of locals they have a verybad record. They ahave a better buisness bureu file that is ridiculous. They actually did my shift kit and servo for me and it came out with no problems(knock on wood) but that was after I basiclly had to fight them to put it on. They tried to tell me that doing both billet servos would be better than Transgo and vette servo. They sold their own servos and they sell Transgo but they had their own servos in stock. My buddy CRAZYVUTER4.8's Dad wen to get a 3000 TCI from them and they put a Midwest 2600 in he brought it back they put the same thing in again so finally ther put a Modwest 3000 in after he paid for the TCI 3000. The messed up thing is he ended up paying for the labor and all 3 TC's!!!!!!! Why I dont know. There is some other things that dont need to be shared but I thought I would tell you what I know. They might have some badass Trannies and from their websites they better. I just dont thing they are a honest "Buisness" Sucks about the TRANNIES man. Hell with the luck Ive had with motors in the last month I think everyday what is gonna ahppen withmy stock tranny finally goes. Knock on wood again.

You guys are worrying the **** out of me! My stock 4l60e never did give me any problems, and was sent back in perfect working order for the core. I paid a pretty penny for this 4l60e, so I hope this SOB doesn't give me any trouble. At least I do have until October to try to tear it up. It will probably go out in November or so.
